All I Want For Christmas Is An Organized Home: Review and Goals ...

My work ended up spilling over into the weekend again, however the library is complete.

I didn?t get to cleaning out the inside of the black wardrobe that holds my craft supplies and completed creative memory albums but I decided to scratch going through that stuff for now and be okay with it because this weekend had a few memory making events I did not want to miss.

Friday afternoon I took my daughter out to Starbucks to enjoy the BOGO event. She had a peppermint hot chocolate and I had a peppermint mocha which we took to go, and drank while cruising the aisle of our local Dollar Tree for crafts for her to do.

Saturday I went on a long awaited trip to Lowe?s with my husband to pick up the bathroom cabinets. Since early spring we have lived without a bathroom sink in one of our bathrooms and finally we had the cash saved to fix that .

Saturday evening was our town?s holiday parade. My daughter and I enjoyed taking it all in letting it jump start the Christmas Spirit.

Sunday afternoon was our church?s annual Thanksgiving feast. I spent the afternoon making this large platter of my homemade chocolates. If you are drooling now, don?t worry I plan to share the recipes with you very soon. (subscribe at the bottom of the post so you don?t miss it)

After feasting and praising my family took in our towns annual Christmas Walkway of Lights display for the first time of the season.

All of these joyous events are way more important to me than having the contents of a wardrobe completely decluttered and viewing friendly, especially considering I never remember a single guest opening it.

The rest of the room however is clean. The worst part was all the dust hidden under the table with the lamp on it in the corner of the photo. There were even pine needles from last years Christmas decor under there.

Seeing the pine needles made me decided that once this cleaning project is over I am going to take the time to type out a list of hidden hot spots that need to be cleaned at least once a season to avoid build up of dust that cannot be good for breathing.

I am flip-flopping my original plan and hitting the dining room this week instead of the study, as it will be so much easier to have the main rooms we decorate for Christmas done before we get the decorations out.

Dining Room Goals

1. Remove all clutter from the dresser, folding table and side board.

2. Dust all surfaces

3. Wash walls and floors

4. Clean swag.

5. Have hubby help me move the china cabinets and clean under and behind them. (I can move the other furniture myself)

6. Get cleaning done of the areas of the room we decorate by Thanksgiving.

Team Boid will cease future development of its Twitter client

Boid Beta

Graham Macphee, one of the members of Team Boid, announced today on his personal blog that the group would cease future development of its popular Twitter client, Boid. When the group set out to create Boid, the intention was to show the development world how well Twitter clients could look and work. They wanted to be the "Tweetbot for Android," and they surely made a splash. Well regarded as an example of Google's new "holo" design guidelines, Boid was extremely popular.

Unfortunately, now without ever exiting "beta," Boid will no longer be developed by the group. Macphee explains that the Boid app wasn't meant to be an achievement for the team, but rather a tool that helped in the achievement of their true goals. They believe that what they accomplished while working on Boid is a positive result for them. The overall result, as they see it, was that other apps followed their lead and started to use design in ways that helped the overall user experience.

Macphee reiterated via Twitter after the post went up that this is not an official announcement -- and there was no mention of the moves Twitter's making that's driving other clients out of business -- but that this is what they intend to make official very soon. If there was any silver lining in this, it's that their intention going forward is to make Boid open-sourced for anyone to continue to work with it in the future. We'll be excited to see how Boid does as the community takes on the development effort.

Windows Phone 8 random reboot issues reported

People in the US and other parts of the world are now buying the first Windows Phone 8 devices from HTC and Nokia. As usual with a new mobile operating system, there have been reports of some initial glitches in these Windows Phone 8 launch products.

The Microsoft support message boards have been the source of new reports from HTC Windows Phone 8X users who claim the device randomly reboots. Similar reports have been posted on the WPCentral.com forums. One person on the Microsoft forums stated, "It was fine for the first week, but is now rebooting several times a day.? Every time so far (that I've noticed)?has been when it's been sitting on my desk doing nothing."

Nokia's own support forums have seen complaints from Lumia 920 users. Those users have reported similar rebooting issues as well as random freezes and some battery issues. The Verge reports that Lumia 920 owners might get better battery life by disabling its NFC features.

So far, Microsoft, Nokia and HTC have yet to comment on what might be causing these glitches. There's also no word on how widespread they might be.

November 18th, 2012 by admin Leave a reply ?

Right now there are many people that are very concerned about the damage that has been done to their home from storms. It is possible to clean up some of this damage on your own, but you may need a professional to help you. Water damage can be very serious. Also, mold can begin to grow within only 72 hours after water has come in contact with the building if it is not cleaned up properly. You can click here for information about storm damage and mold remediation. A professional will be able to help take care of both of these problems.

AC/DC was one of the few acts that would not release music through the digital outlet. The Beatles and Kid Rock were also against selling music on iTunes, but have since jumped onboard. Country star Garth Brooks has yet to release his music on iTunes.

Larry Clark's 'Marfa Girl' & 'The Motel Life' Earn Top Awards At The Rome Film Festival; Italian Films Also Rule

Last night in Rome, the Festival came to a close, as the winners were announced, the awards handed out and the dissection of What It All Means began. The festival, suffering a cut in budget from last year, but boasting perhaps the closest thing to a superstar Artistic Director in Marco Mueller (ex of the Venice Film Festival) for the first time this year, was, as Mueller himself admitted, a schizophrenic affair. The lack of really standout high-profile premieres (the festival would have taken on a different shape if it had landed, say "Django Unchained") gave rise to a somewhat cobbled-together last-minute feel, in which the targeted 60 world premieres happened, but we got the feeling quite a few might have been there just to make up the numbers.?

The Italian contingent of films did best of any particular national cinema, though some of the bigger prizes went to two U.S. films. The Jury, chaired by Jeff Nichols?and comprising Timur Bekmambetov, Valentina Cervi,?Edgardo Cozarinsky, Chris Fujiwara, Leila Hatami?and P.J. Hogan, a little surprisingly, gave the top honor to Larry Clark's "Marfa Girl" which we reviewed here -- we liked it, but more for the promising new elements Clark seemed to be incorporating into his style than as a fully realized film. The other U.S. film to make a splash was not Roman Coppola's "A Glimpse Into the Mind of Charles Swan III" as some had predicted (pre-screening, admittedly) but instead Gabe and Alan Polsky's "The Motel Life," which took the Screenplay award in the main show, and also picked up the editing award elsewhere and the Audience Award, voted for by a natty electronic system. It's a film we really liked, so we're glad to point out that its three awards make it probably the most individually successful film of the festival.

Back in the main competition, the rest of the awards went largely to Italian films, most controversially to the sexually frank "And they Call It Summer," Paolo Franchi's film about a man's addiction to sex with prostitutes, which won him Best Director and his star Best Actress. But when Isabella Ferrari took the stage to accept her award, cries of "Shame" and boos rang out from the audience. We like to think they were just name checking the film's apparently closest U.S counterpart (Steve McQueen's "Shame"), because really, what kind of asshole does that? Ferrari was visibly upset, but thanked the jury for recognizing a "brave" film.

Less controversial was the Best Actor prize, which went to the adorable J?r?mie Elka?m for "Main dans la Main" (read our review), and the Special Jury Prize for "Ali Has Blue Eyes," a film that also took the best debut crown, awarded by a separate jury headed by Matthew Modine. Elsewhere Feng Xiaogang's impressive Chinese epic "1942" picked up a Cinematography award and the Golden Butterfly award, which is voted for by students. The full list of winners is below, and we'll have further coverage and interviews from the U.S. winners over the next couple of days.

Hostess workers here lose jobs; Vulcan may use Seattle property

Originally published November 16, 2012 at 8:43 PM | Page modified November 16, 2012 at 9:16 PM

Hundreds of Hostess Brands employees in Washington lost their jobs this year as the company fought with unions. Now the company says it will liquidate its assets nationwide.

The company announced it would close its Seattle bakery on Monday, but at least 250 employees have lost their jobs statewide between May and when the company filed a motion for bankruptcy Friday.

In May, Hostess said 111 employees in Seattle, 17 in Kent, and 56 in Pierce County were subject to layoffs. The company also had employees in Everett, Bellingham, Bremerton, Tumwater, Longview, Moses Lake, Yakima and Spokane.

The site of the Seattle bakery that Hostess Brands closed Monday likely won't be abandoned for long. The 1-acre South Lake Union property, located at Dexter Avenue North and Republican Street, is valued at $7.8 million by a county assessor, but it could be worth even more.

Across the street is a slightly smaller property Vulcan Real Estate offered to the city this week in exchange for the right to construct taller buildings near South Lake Union ? a property reportedly worth $10 million to $12 million.

Zoning limits the building height on the Hostess property to 85 feet, but a proposed South Lake Union rezone would increase that to 160 feet for commercial buildings and 240 feet for residential towers.

Meanwhile, consumers Friday loaded up shopping carts with Twinkies, Donettes and cupcakes. At a Hostess outlet store in South Everett, Miles Graydon, 29, of Marysville told The (Everett) Herald he planned to sell Hostess goods on the Internet to make extra money for Christmas.

"You've now become too valuable to eat," he told a stack of Twinkie boxes.
